One of the garrison pet dailies you might get is a fight against two carrots and a little blob named Carroteye, Mr. Terrible, and Sloppus. These pets are very easy to fight if you have the right team, and I don't think you'll have any problems if you use my suggested lineup.
About your opponents:
- Mr. Terrible - Elemental
- Carroteye - Elemental
- Sloppus - Magic
To fight them, I use two Striders - a Mirror and an Eternal - and a Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling:
You'll use the Striders first and then switch to your Dragonling at the end. When the battle begins, you'll want to use Pump to power up, and then use Cleansing rain to get a heal. Then you'll use Water Jet repeatedly until Mr. Terrible's HP is low enough that you can use Pump a second time and kill him.
My Mirror Strider died at the same time as Mr. Terrible, so then I brought my Eternal Strider (basically the same pet as the Mirror Strider) out to fight Carroteye, and I used the same strategy.
Pump > Cleaning Rain > Water Jet > Pump
My Eternal Strider had a fair amount of HP left when Sloppus came out, but since Aqautic damage doesn't do so well against Magic creatures, I just cast Water Jet a few times to eat into Sloppus's HP.
You'll have a debuff called "Stench," which means you have a 25% miss chance, which is kind of annoying. When your Strider dies and you bring out your Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling, you'll want to cast Breath except when Sloppus is about to "Chew" on you, where he gain HP from eating you.
It's a two-round ability, so when you see that Sloppus has a buff that looks like a sheep, you'll want to cast Decoy to avoid the chomp and Sloppus's heal. Then, you'll just cast breath bunch until Sloppus is dead.
My Dragonling had about half HP (or maybe a little more) when the battle was complete. Definitely not a hard team to fight if you have some Striders in your stable. And they're really easy to get in Mists of Pandaria content.
And then, of course, Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling comes in for the win at the end. I'd rate this pet as one of the most important in my entire collection. His combination of attacks is just superior in so many fights.
Do you have an alternate team? Have you found a good pairing to level up a third pet?
I used this:
ReplyDelete2x Dancing Water Skimmer (1,2,2). Same as above. Pump, Cleanse, Jet.
1x Emerald Dragon (1,1,2). Nuke with 1 and heal if necesarry with both abilities 2 and 3 in the fight vs sloppus. The heals are nice to have and "Breath" takes Sloppus down in 3-4 hits (2 if crits).
For a 2 pet plus leveling pet fight I used the following:
ReplyDeleteLeopard Tree Frog (S/S) for both Mr. Terrible and Carroteye
Frog Kiss > Cleansing Rain > spam Frog Kiss until both are dead. The fight is RNG dependent in this phase. Frog Kiss must crit for Polymorph on Mr. Terrible, which will force Carroteye to come in. He can be taken down easily with the above rotation. In the case that Frog Kiss immediately crits on Carroteye after the switch, Sloppus will come in. In that case switch to:
Leveling pet for 1 round.
Onyxian Whelpling (or Spawn of Onyxia)
Scorched Earth > spam Breath until Sloppus is dead.
Switch back to the Frog if any of the elementals is still alive.
This was a pretty straightforward fight.
This worded perfectly and exactly as you said. Thank you.
DeleteLacking high enough Striders I tried a Yelllow-Bellied Bullfrog, Legs and the Pandaren Dragonling. Worked also quite well, I started with Legs who managed to kill the first with the high dmg of Pump and Surge of power. the Frog used a lot Frog kiss, that worked also well. And the Dragonling of course was a good choice of you. *thumbs up*
